Transporting optical and photonic systems
Optical systems react to shocks, temperature changes and moisture: alignments shift, coatings fog, glass breaks. They travel in the manufacturer's special packaging – we plan the transport as calmly as possible.
What matters
- Alignment
- Precisely aligned assemblies are fixed according to the manufacturer.
- Glass and coating
- Risk of breakage and sensitive surfaces require moulded packaging and padding.
- Condensation
- Temperature changes when unloading can cause fogging; the recipient decides on acclimatisation before opening.
- Orientation
- Many optical set-ups must not be tilted.
Planning questions
We clarify these points before quoting – the earlier they are known, the more precise the plan.
- Which system (category), and how is it packed?
- Is it sensitive to temperature or moisture?
- May it be tilted?
- Should direct transport be planned?
- Who takes over at the recipient?

What we do for you
What we organise
- Individual planning of your consignment – handling, date and handover aligned
- Direct transport without transhipment and documented handover by agreement
- Additional insurance on request – scope clearly agreed in the quote
Good to know
Tell us the manufacturer's temperature and humidity requirements – we plan short standing times and a calm journey accordingly.
How it works
- 01
Request
You state category of goods, rough route, date and special requirements – confidential details only in conversation.
- 02
Review
We check sensitivities and packaging and plan securing and form of transport.
- 03
Quote
You receive a quote with the agreed scope – direct transport, handover and insurance as discussed.
- 04
Execution
Takeover, upright and low-shock securing, handover to the designated person.
Questions and answers: Optical and photonic systems
How are optical systems protected against shocks?
By the manufacturer's moulded packaging, calm handling and – by agreement – direct transport without handling.
How is temperature-sensitive optics transported?
Tell us the manufacturer's limits – we plan short standing times and clarify which form of transport suits your consignment.
Why should the packaging not be opened immediately?
Cold optics fog up in warm rooms. The recipient decides when to open.
