Transporting laboratory equipment
Laboratory equipment moves, goes for service or to a new institute. Much of it is heavy and sensitive and may only leave the lab after cleaning or decontamination. Handover often takes place at the boundary of a restricted-access area.
What matters
- Decontamination
- Whether a device is cleaned or decontaminated is confirmed by the operator before handover. We only transport released devices.
- Restricted access
- Labs have access rules. Handover takes place at the agreed point, often at the lab exit.
- Sensitive optics and mechanics
- Microscopes and rotors are secured or removed according to the manufacturer.
- Weight
- Incubators and lab automation systems are heavy and bulky.
Planning questions
We clarify these points before quoting – the earlier they are known, the more precise the plan.
- Which devices, and are they decontaminated or released?
- Where exactly is the handover – lab exit, dock?
- Are rotors, objectives or moving parts secured?
- Are there access rules at destination?
- Should direct transport be planned?

What we do for you
What we organise
- Individual planning of your consignment – handling, date and handover aligned
- Direct transport without transhipment and documented handover by agreement
- Additional insurance on request – scope clearly agreed in the quote
Good to know
Hand over lab devices released and empty – samples and chemicals stay in the lab. That way the device can travel without delay.
How it works
- 01
Request
You state category of goods, rough route, date and special requirements – confidential details only in conversation.
- 02
Review
We clarify release, handover points and securing and plan the transport.
- 03
Quote
You receive a quote with the agreed scope – direct transport, handover and insurance as discussed.
- 04
Execution
Takeover at the agreed point, transport and handover to the designated person at the destination lab.
Questions and answers: Laboratory equipment
How must a lab device be prepared for transport?
Released, cleaned and empty – samples, reagents and biological substances stay in the lab. Then the device can travel without delay.
Who confirms that a lab device is decontaminated?
The operator before handover. Without release we do not take over the device.
Does Logisticoo collect devices directly in the lab?
Handover takes place at the agreed point – often the lab exit, because labs have access rules.
