Transporting analytical instruments
Analytical instruments such as spectrometers, chromatographs or mass spectrometers are complex systems with vacuum, gas lines and sensitive optics. The manufacturer's service prepares them for transport – we take over the prepared units.
What matters
- Preparation by the manufacturer
- Venting the vacuum, disconnecting gases, securing components – that belongs in the manufacturer's service hands.
- Several units
- Pumps, gas supply and computers often travel separately from the instrument.
- Orientation and vibration
- Many instruments must not be tilted. Tilt indicators make deviations visible.
- Gas cylinders
- Compressed gas cylinders are not transported with the instrument.
Planning questions
We clarify these points before quoting – the earlier they are known, the more precise the plan.
- Which instrument, and has the manufacturer made it ready for transport?
- Which units does the consignment consist of?
- Is the instrument sensitive to orientation?
- Are there manufacturer requirements for transport?
- Who receives at destination?
What we need from you
- Category “Laboratory, analytical and medical equipment”
- List of units (in conversation)
- Manufacturer requirements
- Date
What we do for you
What we organise
- Individual planning of your consignment – handling, date and handover aligned
- Direct transport without transhipment and documented handover by agreement
- Additional insurance on request – scope clearly agreed in the quote
Good to know
Have the manufacturer's service prepare the instrument for transport and plan gas cylinders separately – then the units travel safely and completely.
How it works
- 01
Request
You state category of goods, rough route, date and special requirements – confidential details only in conversation.
- 02
Review
We check manufacturer requirements, units and orientation sensitivity and plan securing and form of transport.
- 03
Quote
You receive a quote with the agreed scope – direct transport, handover and insurance as discussed.
- 04
Execution
Takeover of the prepared units, upright and low-shock securing, handover at destination.
Questions and answers: Analytical instruments
Who prepares a mass spectrometer for transport?
The manufacturer's service. We take over the prepared units.
What happens to the instrument's gas cylinders?
Plan compressed gas cylinders separately with your gas supplier. The instrument itself travels with us securely packed and, on request, by direct transport.
May an analytical instrument be tilted?
Many may not. We follow the manufacturer's specification; tilt indicators on the packaging make deviations visible.
